AUGUST 20, 2008-BRUSH FIRE
On August 20, 2008 West Brickmont Fire Dept responded to a Brush Fire. Brickstol-Kendall was called with a Tanker to the scene. The fire was extinguished in under 20 minutes. Nobody was hurt.
January 10, 2009 Roll Over Accident
On January 10, 2009, the first call for West Brickmont of the New Year was a roll over accident. While responding to this call another call came in for a possible structure fire. Tanker 311 and Squad 312 went to the structure fire and Brickstol-Kendall responded wth Engine 313 to the accident. The Structure Fire was unfounded, and Engine 313 and Brickstol-Kendall handled the accident. The occupant in the car was unhurt , but very cold. He was treated for minor frostbite and then taken to the Sheriff's Departemt to have a police report filled out.
January 11, 2009 Structure Fire
On January 11, 2009 West Brickmont Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Structure Fire at 1643 W Rt. 52. Upon arriving on the scene Tanker 311 advised that there were visible flames nside the house, and heave smoke showing out of the chimney. Tanker 311 upgraded the Structure fire to a Box alarm which brought all West Brickmont's Trucks: Tanker 311, Squad 312, and Engine 313. It also brought Brickstol-Kendall with a Tanker, Engine, and Ambulance to the scene. Engine 121, Tanker 165, and Medic 141 responded. Engine 313 was next on the scene, and stretched a line to the front door from Tanker 311. Due to Man Power problems, there were only 8 West Brickmont Firefighters on the scene until Brickstol-Kendall Engine 121 got on the scene with 7. Medic 141 was next with 2, followed by Tanker 165 with 8. Engine 121 took a ladder from Tanker 311 and put it up the side of the house and started to ventilate. Due to a winter storm with Sub Zero temperatures near -40, some firefighters stayed in the warm, heated, trucks to stay warm, and switched off every 10 minutes with other firefighters. The fire was quickly extinguished and both departments cleared in under an hour. The fire is beleived to have come from un extinguished embers in the Fireplace. Noboby was injured.
